How do I buy a book from Pearlsong Press?
You have several choices: your local bookstore, directly from us, or from
various online bookstores, including Amazon.com.
Look for Pearlsong Press books at your favorite bookstore. Since we're a new company and are still setting up distribution channels, you might need at first to ask your bookstore to order the titles you want from us. They'll be happy to do so. Our titles are listed in Books in Print and carried by Ingram Book Group, wholesaler to booksellers around the country.
You can also buy directly from us through this website, using our secure shopping cart and credit card processing. Or you can print and fill out an order blank and mail it to us with your check or credit card information enclosed. You can also call us at 1-615-356-5188 and place the order by phone using a credit card.
Pearlsong Press books can also be ordered through online booksellers like Amazon.com and Powells.com. To buy a book right now through this website by using our secure shopping cart and a credit card, click on the "buy now" link next to the title you're interested in. You'll be taken to the catalog listings, where you can click to add your choice to a virtual shopping cart and go through the online checkout/purchase process. If you've purchased an eBook from us, you'll be quickly given instructions on downloading it from our website, and can begin reading in minutes. (In order to download and read an eBook, you must be using a computer with a drive onto which you can download the eBook file. The process won't work with a Web TV.) With printed books, you'll have to wait on the U.S. Postal Service (if the book is mailed from our office) or UPS if mailed directly from the printer. In either case, if you're within the U.S. you should receive your book within a few business days of ordering it from us.I'm a bookseller—how do I order Pearlsong Press titles for resale?
Our books are carried by Ingram Book Group through its association with Lightning Source, Inc. You can also order directly from us at a discount. Our online shopping cart isn't currently set up to handle wholesale transactions, so if you want to order directly from us, please email wholesales@pearlsong.com or call us at (615) 356-5188. You can find additional information for booksellers here on our website.
Is your credit card processing secure?
Yes, our website and shopping cart uses SSL technology.
An eBook ("e" standing for "electronic") is a book in digital, electronic format rather than printed on paper and bound in the "traditional" manner. EBooks can be read on your computer or on your PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) or handheld computer, depending on their format. (Please note that downloadable eBooks like those produced by Pearlsong Press cannot be downloaded and read via Web TVs because there is no means of downloading and storing the file on a hard drive or disk, as can be done with a computer.)
In most cases, the software you use to read the eBook can be downloaded for free. In fact, you may already have it on your computer.
EBook formats include Adobe Reader (also known as Adobe Acrobat Reader), Microsoft Reader, and Palm Reader.
"Trade paperback" is a book industry term for a paperback/softcover book the size of a traditional hardcover book, frequently 6 x 9 inches or 5.5 x 8.5 inches. The word "trade" differentiates these books from "mass market" paperbacks, which are the smaller sized paperbacks you see for sale in supermarkets as well as bookstores. Many books are now originally published in trade paperback rather than hardcover format.
What are your shipping charges?
We currently charge $3.85 per book for shipping and handling for retail purchases of printed books. There is no shipping and handling charge for eBooks because they are automatically downloaded to your computer.
Yes, although the shipping charge may be higher and may need to be individually determined based upon the destination. (There's no extra charge for downloading eBooks internationally, by the way—at least, not by us. We can't speak for your Internet Service Provider.) You might also consider purchasing your book through the UK-based retailer The Book Depository, which offers free shipping worldwide.
We certainly hope you enjoy our products, and we intend to provide only those of high quality. But if you should be dissatisfied with one of our books for any reason, including any printing-related problems that slipped through our quality control, please contact us for a refund or replacement.
Do you charge sales tax for books ordered through your website, phone, or mail?
Sales taxes are calculated for retail sales to residents of Tennessee, since Pearlsong Press is physically located in that state. Wholesale transactions with booksellers are not taxed.
See the About Pearlsong Press page.
How can I submit a manuscript or book idea to Pearlsong Press?
Please see our Submissions page info.
