A Pearlsong Conversation with Charlie Lovett

....author of the suspense novel The Program.

Join me at noon Eastern (11 a.m. Central) Wednesday, April 8, 2009 for a free teleconference chat with Charlie Lovett, writer-in-residence at Summit School in Winston-Salem, NC and author of The Program, published by Pearlsong Press in May 2008.

Charlie Lovett's plays for children have been seen in over 1,000 productions in all 50 states and five foreign countries. He is the author of 11 previous books, including the acclaimed memoir Love, Ruth. The Program  is his first novel. It's been described as "chick lit meets Stephen King." (For more on The Program, see http://www.pearlsong.com/theprogram.htm. For more on Charlie Lovett, see http://www.pearlsong.com/charlie_lovett.htm or http://www.charlielovett.com.)

Email pearlsongconversations@pearlsong.com for the details (teleconference phone number & access code) and call the teleconference line at noon Eastern (11 a.m. Central) to listen and/or participate in the hour-long Conversation. (You don't have to talk if you don't want to -- it's fine to just listen.)

The line will handle up to 96 participants―first come, first served. And did I mention that it's F.R.E.E.?! Other than your usual cost, if any, for a long distance call.

The first Pearlsong Conversation was on January 14 with FatLand author Frannie Zellman as the featured Conversationalist. Pat Ballard, the Queen of Rubenesque Romances, was the second month's Conversationalist and Linda C. Wisniewski, author of Off Kilter, the third. Right now our plans are to hold these Conversations on the second Wednesday of every month.

We are recording these Conversations and making them available for listening online after the call. You can find links to the previous Conversation recordings on the Pearlsong Conversations webpage. I have also been playing the recordings on my Health At Every Size radio show.

For more info, see www.pearlsong.com/pearlsongconversations.htm.

To go ahead and request the call-in number & access code, email pearlsongconversations@pearlsong.com.

I hope I'll hear your voice―or at least you'll hear Charlie Lovett's and mine―on April 8!

In Joy,

I think it not improbable that man,
like the grub that prepares a chamber
for the winged thing it has never seen but is to be—
that man may have cosmic destinies
that he does not understand.
And so beyond the vision of battling races
and an impoverished earth,
I catch a dreaming glimpse of peace.
